AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for Gold Star Family plate.

3The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4hereby enacts as follows:

5Section 1.  Section 1365(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
6Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

7§ 1365.  Gold Star Family plate.

8(a)  General rule.--Upon application of a family member of a
9person who was killed while serving on active duty in the
10military, accompanied by a fee of [$20] $7.50 which shall be in
11addition to the annual registration fee and by such
12documentation as the department shall require, the department
13shall issue to the family member a special registration plate
14designating the vehicle so licensed as belonging to a family
15member of a person who was killed while serving on active duty

1in the military. The department shall design and produce the
2special registration plate carrying the Service Flag Gold Star
3rimmed with blue which represents sacrifice to the cause of
4liberty and freedom. The words "Gold Star Family" shall be
5clearly displayed along the bottom of the plate. The special
6registration plate may be used only on a passenger car or truck
7with a registered gross weight of not more than [10,000] 14,000
8pounds.

10Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 90 days.
