AN ACT
1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, further providing for person with disability plate
3and placard.
4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:
6Section 1. Section 1338 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding subsections to read:
8§ 1338. Person with disability plate and placard.

10(c.3) Person with temporary emergency disability placard.--
11On the initial application of a person who meets the
12qualifications of subsections (a) and (c), the person shall
13qualify for a temporary emergency disability placard that shall
14remain valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and may not
15be renewed. The placard must be displayed as required by
16subsection (b), and the application required by the department
17in subsection (a) must be made available on demand for
1inspection at all times when in use.
2(c.4) Authorization and issuance of temporary emergency
3disability placard.--A member of the General Assembly or an
4employee of a member of the General Assembly, in performance of
5an official duty, may issue a constituent a temporary emergency
6disability placard. The application required by the department
7in subsection (a) shall be provided by the constituent to the
8member or employee of a member of the General Assembly for
9verification and duplication before issuance. Authorizations are
10subject to inspection by the department and shall be retained
11for a period of two years by the office of issuance.

13Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
