INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, MAY 11, 2011
A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of May 2011 as "National Water Safety
Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The World Waterpark Association, the National
Recreation and Parks Association and the Association of Pool and
Spa Professionals, representing water parks, aquatic facilities
and pool and spa dealers, have combined resources in an effort
to educate Americans to be "water aware" during "National Water
Safety Month" in May; and
WHEREAS, These organizations are using this opportunity to
promote water safety by providing education on preventing
recreational water-related injuries and deaths; and
WHEREAS, According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, six people drown in United States pools every day;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
month of May 2011 as "National Water Safety Month" in
