| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Honoring the memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks in |
2 | Mumbai, India, which took place November 26 through 29, 2008. |
3 | WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of |
4 | Pennsylvania emphatically and without hesitation condemn the |
5 | terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, through which perpetrators |
6 | sought to create chaos and trigger sectarian unrest in the |
7 | largest pluralistic democracy of the world; and |
8 | WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives join in |
9 | mourning the senseless and tragic deaths of the innocent people |
10 | killed during the attacks; and |
11 | WHEREAS, The individuals who were killed or wounded in the |
12 | attacks represented diverse nationalities and ethnic groups, |
13 | including area residents as well as Western tourists; and |
14 | WHEREAS, The many heroic individuals who, without regard to |
15 | their own personal safety and well-being, performed selfless and |

1 | courageous actions that saved countless others deserve to be |
2 | honored as well; and |
3 | WHEREAS, It is altogether proper and fitting for the House of |
4 | Representatives to join in remembering the victims of the |
5 | terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India; therefore be it |
6 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives hereby honor the |
7 | memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, |
8 | pay tribute to the courage and determination of the many |
9 | individuals who, in the service of freedom and democracy, made |
10 | great sacrifices on behalf of others and urge the citizenry of |
11 | this Commonwealth and this nation to stand in solidarity with |
12 | the people of India. |
