relating to repealing a provision authorizing a person to hold | ||
office as a municipal judge in more than one municipality only if | ||
each office is filled by appointment. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 574.001(b), Government Code, is | ||
repealed. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2020, but only | ||
if the constitutional amendment proposed by the 86th Legislature, | ||
Regular Session, 2019, permitting a person to hold more than one | ||
office as an unpaid municipal judge is approved by the voters. If | ||
that proposed constitutional amendment is not approved by the | ||
voters, this Act has no effect. |
