BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 574.001(b), Government Code, is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||
(b) A person may hold the office of municipal judge for more | ||
than one municipality at the same time [ |

benefit to this state. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2020, but only | ||
if the constitutional amendment proposed by the 86th Legislature, | ||
Regular Session, 2019, permitting a person to hold more than one | ||
office as a municipal judge at the same time is approved by the | ||
voters. If that proposed constitutional amendment is not approved | ||
by the voters, this Act has no effect. | ||
