A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the amount that may be donated by contract by certain
  populous counties to crime stoppers or crime prevention
  organizations.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 351.901(b), Local Government Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (b)  The commissioners court of a county by contract may
  donate money to one or more crime stoppers or crime prevention
  organizations for expenditure by the organizations to meet the
  goals identified in Subsection (a). The total amount of all
  donations made in a calendar year may not exceed:
               (1)  $25,000; or
               (2)  $100,000, for a county with a population of one
  million or more.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
