relating to the appointment of certain trustees of the Blinn Junior | ||
College District. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 130.0827(a), Education Code, is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||
(a) Notwithstanding any other law, in addition to the | ||
members of the board of trustees of the Blinn Junior College | ||
District elected or appointed under other provisions of this | ||
subchapter, the commissioners court of each county in which a | ||
branch campus of the district with a student enrollment greater | ||
than 10,000 is located shall appoint two members to serve on the | ||
district's board of trustees. If an advisory committee for a | ||
branch campus has been previously established, the members may | ||

SECTION 2. Section 130.0827(d), Education Code, is | ||
repealed. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
