| WHEREAS, Morris McRae of Miller High School in Corpus Christi | ||
| received fitting recognition when he was named 2015 Secondary | ||
| Teacher of the Year by the Corpus Christi Independent School | ||
| District; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A U.S. and world history teacher at Miller High | ||
| School since 2009, Mr. McRae is also an advanced placement | ||
| instructor in the same subjects; his project-based approach to | ||
| teaching has made his classes popular with students and won him an | ||
| earlier accolade, when he was named Teacher of the Year for the | ||
| 2010-2011 school year; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. McRae holds a bachelor's degree summa cum laude | ||
| in history, and he earned a master's degree in educational and | ||
| instructional technology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi | ||
| in 2014; he also brings to his classes his 21 years of prior | ||
| experience in the business world as an account executive at | ||
| Motorola Codex; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Morris McRae exemplifies the passion, | ||
| determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our | ||
| best teachers, and he is inspiring in his students a love of | ||
| learning that will serve them well throughout their lives; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Morris McRae on being named | ||
| Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Corpus Christi Independent | ||
| School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| success and happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. McRae as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
