WHEREAS, The eBridge Center for Business and | ||
Commercialization is making important contributions to the | ||
economic vitality of Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley; and | ||
WHEREAS, One of the largest startup incubators and | ||
entrepreneurial resource centers in the Rio Grande Valley, the | ||
eBridge Center works to commercialize scalable businesses, create | ||
local jobs, establish entrepreneurial equity, and develop an open | ||
and inclusive ecosystem for all entrepreneurs; and | ||
WHEREAS, The eBridge Center offers business incubation | ||
programming from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley | ||
Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center, and it encompasses | ||
a U.S. Patent and Trademark Resource Center, the Small Business | ||
Development Center, the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, | ||
Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Veterans Business | ||
Outreach Center, Nonprofit Resource Center, and the Blueprint Lab | ||
Prototyping Space for research and development of emerging | ||
industries; in addition, the eBridge Center has received a Soft | ||
Landings designation from InBIA, and it is home to the StartUp Texas | ||
Accelerator Program; and | ||
WHEREAS, The establishment of the eBridge Center for Business | ||
and Commercialization was made possible through a collaborative | ||
partnership between the Brownsville Community Improvement | ||
Corporation, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the City of | ||
Brownsville, the United States Economic Development | ||
Administration, the United States Small Business Administration, | ||
and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council; and | ||
WHEREAS, The eBridge Center for Business and | ||
Commercialization has benefited the community by providing | ||
essential support to area businesses and entrepreneurs, and the | ||
organization is indeed deserving of special recognition for its | ||
many achievements; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby recognize the eBridge Center for Business and | ||
Commercialization for its contributions to the Brownsville and Rio | ||
Grande Valley communities and extend to all those associated with | ||
the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the eBridge Center as an expression of high regard by | ||
the Texas House of Representatives. |
