relating to training by the Texas Department of Transportation on | ||
the recognition and prevention of smuggling and trafficking of | ||
persons. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 201, Transportation Code, | ||
is amended by adding Section 201.407 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 201.407. TRAINING ON SMUGGLING AND TRAFFICKING OF | ||
PERSONS. (a) The department shall develop and make available to | ||
employees of the department a training course on the recognition | ||
and prevention of smuggling and trafficking of persons. | ||
(b) The department, in collaboration with the office of the | ||
attorney general, shall establish the content of the training | ||
developed under Subsection (a). | ||
(c) On the date an employee begins employment with the | ||
department, the department shall provide notice to the employee of | ||
the availability of the training developed under Subsection (a). | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
