relating to the extension of a driver's license suspension or | ||
disqualification following certain convictions. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 521.343(c), Transportation Code, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
(c) If the license holder is convicted of operating a motor | ||
vehicle while the license to operate a motor vehicle is cancelled, | ||
disqualified, suspended, revoked, or denied, the period is extended | ||
for 90 days [ |

chapter or Chapter 522. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
to a determination of suspension or disqualification made by the | ||
Department of Public Safety on or after the effective date of this | ||
Act. A determination made before the effective date of this Act is | ||
governed by the law in effect when the determination was made, and | ||
the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
