A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the maintenance of certain state buildings allocated
  for legislative use and their grounds.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 2165.007, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
         (c)  Notwithstanding Subsection (b) and except as otherwise
  provided by this subsection, the State Preservation Board is
  responsible for providing general building and grounds maintenance
  for the Sam Houston Building, the Robert E. Johnson Building and the
  attached chiller utility plant and parking facility known as state
  parking garage P, and the John H. Reagan Building. The commission
  shall operate and maintain the central utility plant in the Sam
  Houston Building. This subsection may not be construed to
  specifically commit the control of any public buildings or grounds
  to the State Preservation Board for purposes of Section 2165.002 or
  any other law.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
