A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a poll watcher presenting proof of identification at
  the polling place.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 33.051(a), Election Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         (a)  A watcher appointed to serve at a precinct polling
  place, a meeting place for an early voting ballot board, or a
  central counting station must deliver the following materials to
  the presiding judge at the time the watcher reports for service:
               (1)  a form of legal identification under Section
  63.0101 that discloses the full name and address of the watcher;
               (2)  a certificate of appointment; and
               (3) [(2)]  a certificate of completion from training
  completed by the watcher under Section 33.008.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
