A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to aloha stadium.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  (a)  The University of Hawaii shall contract with an independent third party to conduct a feasibility study to determine the effect of placing Aloha Stadium under the jurisdiction of the University of Hawaii rather than the department of accounting and general services.  The study shall focus on the feasibility and effect of giving the University of Hawaii responsibility over the operation, maintenance, promotion, and management of the premises and facilities at Aloha Stadium.

     (b)  The University of Hawaii shall report to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2013 on the findings and recommendations of the feasibility study conducted pursuant to subsection (a).

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the stadium special fund the sum of $50,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 for the University of Hawaii to contract with an independent third party to conduct a feasibility study to determine the effects of placing Aloha Stadium under the jurisdiction of the University of Hawaii rather than the department of accounting and general services.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
