Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Requires a group or individual policy of accident and health insurance to provide coverage for cardiopulmonary monitors for a person 18 years old or younger who has had a cardiopulmonary event. Effective January 1, 2020.

| 1 | AN ACT concerning regulation.
| ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding | ||||||
| 5 | Section 356z.33 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (215 ILCS 5/356z.33 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 356z.33. Coverage for cardiopulmonary monitors. A | ||||||
| 8 | group or individual policy of accident and health insurance | ||||||
| 9 | amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective date | ||||||
| 10 | of this amendatory Act of the 101st General Assembly shall | ||||||
| 11 | provide coverage for cardiopulmonary monitors determined to be | ||||||
| 12 | medically necessary for a person 18 years old or younger who | ||||||
| 13 | has had a cardiopulmonary event.
| ||||||
| 14 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January | ||||||
| 15 | 1, 2020.
