SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
225 ILCS 410/2-10 new

Amends the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair Braiding, and Nail Technology Act of 1985. Provides that a licensed barber is required to wear disposable gloves when shaving any part of a person's face, neck, or hairline. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair
5Braiding, and Nail Technology Act of 1985 is amended by adding
6Section 2-10 as follows:
7 (225 ILCS 410/2-10 new)
8 Sec. 2-10. Business practices. A licensed barber is
9required to wear disposable gloves when shaving any part of a
10person's face, neck, or hairline. A violation of this Section
11shall be grounds for disciplinary action under Section 4-7 of
12this Act.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
